Karina Jougla (CC ’16) is majoring in Comparative Literature and Society with a concentration in Statistics. She is a John Jay Scholar in the Columbia Undergraduate Scholars Program. Interested in social justice issues including education, climate change, and gender equality, Karina is involved in America Reads, Barnard Columbia Divest, and the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign. Karina grew up in Carpinteria, California, and her favorite book since childhood is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.
