Patenting Culture: The Cultural Conflict of Intellectual Property
Hallen Korn is a native New Yorker who returned to academia
after spending seven years pursuing a career as a chef. He is currently
working towards a BA in History at Columbia University (GS ’14) and aims to concentrate his studies on the role of the United States in world politics.
While his professional aspirations no longer involve a focus on food,
his experiences as a professional cook abroad, in both Italy and Japan,
have given him a great deal of interest and insight into the cultural
importance of food.
